Participation in survey and competition “SwimVox”
Competition rules and statement of personal data
These competition rules are drawn up in English, and are translated into French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian and German for the comfort of the respondent. The English version is the leading version, no rights can be linked to the translated versions.
Art. 1 The object
“SwimVox” is a research project for public pools and contains an online survey of the audience of the participating public pools. This online survey is linked to a competition for the participating respondents. This competition is organised by Sento Group BV (see Art. 7), who facilitates the research. These rules determine the modalities for participation in the survey and the associated competition. Participation in the survey and competition implies acceptance of these rules.
“The respondent” or “respondents” are the individuals who complete a survey for one of the participating public pools. Participation in the survey is entirely voluntary and happens by the free will of the respondent. Participation in the study and competition is allowed from the age of 18. The respondent can stop the survey at any time if he or she wishes. The surveys are completely anonymous. No identification data of the respondent is requested or stored. The time to complete a survey is estimated at 10 minutes, but can depend on the speed of responding and the answers given in the survey. The respondent gives the researchers or their partners permission to store, process and report his or her answers anonymously. The data is collected and stored by Sento Group BV and can be shared with the partners of the study, such as the participating universities. Additional information about the study can be found on www.swimvox.eu
Art. 2: Personal data
The questionnaire completed by the respondents does not contain any questions about personal data or identification data: no questions or data are collected in any way and at no time that can be traced back to the identity of the individual. The completion of the questionnaire is therefore completely anonymous at all times. Due to the anonymous nature, there is no possibility to find out who has completed a certain survey, and it is therefore not possible to ask after completing the survey to view, change or delete answers.
It is prohibited to leave personal data (name, email address, address, etc.) through the open fields in the survey. If you do so, you can contact Sento via the email address mentioned below to view, modify, or delete your data.
No personal data is collected for the competition (“win a trip”), either. The survey system picks winners from the respondents via the system described in Article 4 (“Determination of winners”). Respondents who win will see a separate message after completing the survey, with a unique code and the request to contact the research team via an email address. In this way, the research team only comes into contact with the winners and avoids having to collect personal data from each respondent. Winners can at any time and on simple request by e-mail or letter ask Sento Group BV to view, change or delete their personal data.
Art. 3: Competition conditions
The competition runs throughout the period of the audience survey. This period is initially planned from 1 Mai 2025 to 30 November 2025, but it can always be extended or shortened by the research team without additional notification.
Only respondents who complete all questions in the online questionnaire will participate validly in the competition. Each person may only participate once in the survey and therefore in the competition.
Each respondent has a chance to win one of the trips. Each respondent can only win one trip. The trips are given in the form of vouchers for a value of 1000 (thousand) euros. The number of trips that can be won is set at 5 for the entire study. This number is subject to change by the investigation team without further notice.
Each respondent (and therefore participant in the competition) who completes a survey correctly and completely saves 1 m² of endangered rainforest or nature reserve thanks to his or her participation. Each participant may participate a maximum of one time and can therefore save up to 1 m² of rainforest or endangered nature reserve. The rescue of endangered rainforest or nature reserve is limited to 1000 m² (one thousand) per questionnaire and therefore per participating public pool in the study. At the end of the study, a donation will be made to the recognized organization World Land Trust for the total number of square meters of rainforest saved, who will provide an official certificate. This certificate is shared with all participating public pools in this research and published online.
Art. 4: Determination of winners
The prizes are raffled off via a lottery system. Prior to the study, the website www.randomizer.org will choose 15 (5 + 10 spare) public pools randomly between all participating public pools. In the survey of these public pools, a prize will be raffled among the participants. For each chosen public pool, a number between 1 and 10 is chosen via the same website, www.randomizer.org. At the winning public pools, a randomizer is activated in the survey system, which randomly assigns a number from 1 to 10 to each respondent. This happens in the background and is not visible to the respondent. The first respondent from the winning public pool who is assigned the winning number by the randomizer will see a message at the end of the survey that he or she has won, containing a unique code and an e-mail address. The winner will contact this email address and further processing will be handled directly between winner and organizer. In the event that the winner does not contact the organizer to claim his or her prize more than 1 week after completing the survey, the prize may be awarded to the next respondent who will be awarded the winning number in the winning public pool's survey. This process can be repeated until a winner is determined for each prize.
If it turns out that a selected public pool is at risk of reaching too few respondents and as a result the prize may not be raffled off, the project team can choose at any time to change the winning public pool to one of the previously determined “spare public pools”. This process can be repeated until a winner is known. If necessary, new public pools can be added to the selection of winning public pools via the same lottery system.
In case the project team decides to give away more prizes, additional public pools and winning numbers from the spare list will be chosen, or additional public pools will be added via the same lottery system. In case the project team decides to reduce the number of prizes, the same randomizer will determine for which previously selected public pool (or pools) no prize will be raffled off.
The process of the previous draw of public pools and winning figures is recorded on video. Any changes after the start of the competition, such as awarding more or fewer prizes, will be recorded on video in the same way.
The outcome of the contest is irrevocable and binding, and cannot be challenged for any reason. No information about the competition may be communicated with the organizer.
Art. 5: Prizes
The winners of the competition will each receive 1 travel budget worth 1000 (one thousand) euros in the form of a voucher (usable for travel, lodging, activities). In total, there are 4 vouchers to be won. This number may be adjusted by the organizer without further notice. Under no circumstances are the prizes exchangeable for cash or other benefits in kind. The organizer can in no way be held liable for the quality of the trips purchased by the winner, nor for defects in the services of third parties.
Art. 6: The competition rules
Participation in the survey and competition implies full acceptance of these contest rules. Any attempted fraud will be punished with immediate exclusion of the participant and possible further legal action. Sento Group BV also reserves the right to change, postpone, shorten or withdraw the competition or part thereof in the event of force majeure or circumstances not attributable to Sento Group BV. It cannot be held liable for this.
Printing, spelling, typesetting or other errors cannot be invoked as grounds for any obligations for Sento Group. These regulations have been drawn up in English, which is the leading and binding version of these regulations. For the comfort of the user, these regulations have been translated into Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian. These translated versions are neither leading nor binding, no rights can be taken away from them, even in the event of translation errors.
